ENCINITAS,

- Peiser Solutions, a provider of computer consulting and network
support services in
San Diego
County, is providing reduced-cost technology classes to students at Pacific
View Elementary School in Encinitas.
The
students are learning how to create web pages that focus on the Encinitas
Community and their school. Instruction includes sessions on the use of
Microsoft FrontPage as well as using sounds, video and digital photographs
on a website.
This
project has taken on special significance since Pacific View
Elementary is celebrating its 50th anniversary and is closing at the end of
the school year. One of the class projects will focus on the history of the
school. The teachers involved with the project are Judy Leff, Danner Petty
and Victor Flake.
The
classes are made possible due to the efforts of Niels Lund, Executive
Director of the non-profit organization Class A.C.T., who raised funds from
the Encinitas Chamber of Commerce and the Downtown Encinitas Mainstreet
Association (D.E.M.A.). Partial matching funds were also provided under a
special program through the City of Encinitas Commission For The Arts.
Once
the project is completed, the web site is planned to be accessible via
several links, including links on the Encinitas school district website as
well as the Chamber of Commerce website and the website of Peiser
Solutions.
